“You’re kidding me, right?” Nolan readjusted his backpack which held the blueprints. He was hired to steal a document from a random facility, a place which name he couldn’t even pronounce then meet up at a rondevu point and hand it over to his anonymous employer. He wasn’t expecting this guy, and he was even less so expected to be accused of playing games. Okay yeah so Nolan made copies of the document, probably planning to steal which ever item this guy was trying to get his hands on and sell it to the higher bitter, but that had nothing to do with completing this job. He kept his end of the bargain, mostly.
“You asked for the damn blueprints and here- “ He tossed the bag at the other. “-I got the damn blue prints. Check it?”
few people are able to effortlessly pull the wool over his eyes. that’s what he tells himself, at least, inflating both reputation & proficiency to some degree. some truth exists in the sentiment, though, since the star-lord has been on both ends of transactions like this countless times before. this kid, though – he’s still green. not by the standards of average people, but in the kinds of circles he’s fixing to dive into? he’ll end up being nothing but canon fodder; an example waiting to be made, dissuading others from partaking in some half-baked double-cross.
